The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is an innovative and growing hospital which opened the doors to its brand new, state of the art facility in November, 2010. Our mission, vision and values are based on the principles of health, wellness, well-being and wholeness through holistic healing. We serve the thriving community of Sioux Lookout as well as more than 20,000 First Nations people from the surrounding region.
We are a hospital based health centre focused on the continuum of primary health care services including a broad range of basic and some specialist hospital services, specialized community based programs and services responding to population health needs (diabetes, withdrawal management, suicide, TB, etc long term care and integrated traditional and modern medicine. We are fully accredited with 41 Acute Care beds, 8 Complex Continuing Care beds, 5 Withdrawal Management beds; and a 20 bed Extended Care facility.
The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre provides health services with respect to culture and linguistic diversity of all residents within Sioux Lookout and the surrounding area, and to people from the Nishnawbe-Aski communities north of Sioux Lookout, the Treaty # 3 community of Lac Seul First Nation, as well as to residents of Pickle Lake and Savant Lake. Current CMTRO/CAMRT registration required
CPR, First Aid desirable
Must be able to perform general general/fluoroscopic x-rays
Mammography and/or CT experience/training/willing to acquire these skills an asset
Word processing, computer skills an asset
Strong interpersonal skills are a must
Must be familiar with equipment and competent in performing tests, preventative
maintenance and documentation of results
Must have the ability to work independently and as a team
Must be available to take call after regular working hours
