Completion of recognized Pharmacy Technician Course

Must demonstrate the capability of performing Medication Reconciliation  

Must be currently registered or be involved in the process of becoming registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. If in progress, the registration process must be completed within six months of hire. For those current employees to whom it applies, registration must be completed by December 31, 2014.

Must have satisfactory work performance in present position.

Must have previous proven good attendance record.



Previous hospital pharmacy experience.



Perform the technical functions required in providing a pharmacy service including but not restricted to:

Drug Distribution (individual patient prescriptions, ward stock, narcotics) including checking other technicians’ work, delivering to nursing units.

Manufacturing (TPN, CADD cassettes, antibiotic syringes, non-sterile products)

Chemotherapy preparation

Pharmacy computer systems (out-patient billing, refills, credits, ward stock and narcotic issues)

Order entry into Meditech Pharmacy Computer Program under Pharmacists’ supervision

Maintenance of perpetual inventory

Tracking and reporting workload

Performs other duties as assigned.
